Owler runs the jobs you register on launchd and shows their records. That is all it does. The app has no server, no analytics and no account.
What it reads and writes
Job definitions, and the record and output of each run, live in ~/Library/Application Support/Owler. The launchd agents live in ~/Library/LaunchAgents. When a job runs claude -p, Owler looks for that folder's Claude Code transcript and reads the last message. To find the editor window, it reads the titles of Cursor and VS Code windows.
Nothing leaves your Mac
Every record stays on this Mac. Nothing is collected and nothing is sent anywhere.
Update checks go to GitHub
Owler checks for a new version once at launch. The check fetches one small file from GitHub Releases, so GitHub sees a request with your IP address, like any download. It carries nothing about your jobs.
No analytics
There are no crash reports, no usage tracking, no device IDs and no third-party SDKs in the app.
About this website
owler.kkweb.io, including this page, counts page views with Vercel Web Analytics. It uses no cookies and collects nothing that identifies you. What this page says about collecting nothing is about the app, not about these page view counts.
You can check all of this
Owler is open source under the MIT license. Everything on this page can be checked in the source code. If something looks wrong, open an issue.
Changes
If a future version handles data differently, this page is updated before that version ships.
